We give our heartfelt thanks to the community for their support and love!

WHEREAS, women play a vital role in worldwide social, economic, cultural and political development; and

WHEREAS, International Women’s Day is recognized globally and has been observed since 1911. It serves as a reminder of the important progress women have made towards equality in areas such as academia and athletics as well as government and politics; and

WHEREAS, Dr. Vishnu Maya Upadhyay has given to the Mesquite community in many ways and is a founding member of the USA-Nepal Community Outreach Network (UNCON); and

WHEREAS, UNCON’s mission is to work with communities to help alleviate hunger and poverty and to provide support for healthcare activities to the underprivileged people in Nepal and other parts of the world; and

WHEREAS, UNCON works to provide short-term help for various disaster victims, support education, health, child abuse and women’s empowerment and provide support in other areas that are approved by the UNCON Board; and

WHEREAS, Dr. Maya discovered an opportunity to make a difference in the lives of those around her and dedicates her time and resources in our community.

NOW, THEREFORE, I, Bruce Archer, Mayor of the City of Mesquite, do hereby proclaim Monday, March 8, 2021, as:

USA-Nepal Community Outreach Network Day

in the City of Mesquite and urge Mesquite citizens to continue to work toward equality for all people and to engage in UNCON’s projects which benefit our community.

PVSA Recipients Appreciation and Award Distribution

We would like to share our happiness that the UNCON Women For Women team was able to donate the funds we received from our community to Sharing Life Community Outreach & Mesquite TX Tri East - NAACP  yesterday at the Mesquite Mayor’s office.

With this donation, Sharing Life Community will be able to provide meals to 1500 families in need during this holiday season!

Donation to NAACP will help their mental health initiative for MISD students to pursue their career in this profession.

Breast Cancer Awareness Program by UNCON in collaboration with the health experts.

COVID-19 Support

UNCON supported front-line heroes in Nepal by providing essential resources such as PPE and KN95 masks. 

UNCON provided 500 KN95 masks to Nepal Traffic Police.

UNCON provided 10 washable PPEs and 200 KN95 masks to Shukraraaj Tropical & Infectious Disease Hospital (Teku Hospital)

UNCON provided 10 washable PPEs and 200 KN95 masks to Shahid Gangalal National Heart Centre

UNCON Secretary, Agni Sanjel, led this project successfully.
