UNCON's partners in Nepal and their activities:

Shreejana Development Centre (SDC)

Child Development Society (CDS)

UNCON empowers families to turn hunger and poverty into hope and prosperity by encouraging and financially supporting children to attend school in the rural areas of Nepal. In this contest UNCON is in the process of establishing a partner relation with CDS, a NGO that is working for the children education in the rural areas near Kathmandu, the capital city of Nepal.

 

UNCON is in the process of establishing a partner relation with CDS, a NGO that is working for the children education in the rural areas near Kathmandu, the capital city of Nepal. Under this partner relation, UNCON will assume the financial responsibility of tuition fee, complete school uniform, and necessary supplies for 10 students, in year 2015. More information will be posted once the MOU is signed by both parties.

Among various achievements of SDC in the past years are establishment of Shreejana Deaf Higher Secondary School (now autonomous), establishment of Shreejana Children home, and training program for self employment. One of the missions of SDC is to work for social and economical upgrade of poor and underprivileged population in the rural areas.

 

SDC and UNCON are in the process of establishing partner relation with each other. Under this relation, UNCON will provide financial support to SDC to conduct vocational training programs for women of the poor and deprived rural community. UNCON will also support SDC to buy needed tools/equipment for distribution to the poor and deprived women, who successfully completes the training. More information will be posted once the MOU is signed by both parties

Govinda/Bimala Charity Foundation is working on education sector since 2005. It has provided financial assistance to various education program in Lamjung and Kathmandu. Below are some of the programs run by the foundation:

  • Financial assistance of Rs.50,000 to Shree Prabhat Shanti Purna to upgrade from junior high to high school.

  • Financial assistance of Rs.215,000 to start computer education in the same school with 10 computers and 1 printer benefiting the rural students. The Foundation has sponsored a teacher since 2008 which comes around Rs.530,000 till date.

  • Cash prize of Rs.20,000 for MPhil studetns from Gurung community every year since 2013.

  • Financial assistance of Rs.125,000 to Amar High Secondary School Khudi, Lamjung for running the bachelors level and 10+2 science program.

  • Cash prize of Rs.3000 every year for SLC topper from Amar Higher Secondary School since 2011.

  • Financial assistance of Rs.10,000 to Ama ghar during their son's birthday since 2011.

  • Foundation provides scholarships to 18% of the total students at Sanskar School.

 

Govinda/Bimala Charity Foundation and UNCON are in the process of establishing partner relation with each other. Under this relation, UNCON will provide financial support to Foundation to upgrade current computer equipments at Shree Prabhat Shanti Purna high school in Lamjung disctict. This will benefit the rural students in Lamjung district. More information will be posted once the MOU is signed by both parties.

GB Foundation

Lions Club International Multiple District 325 Nepal

An agreement regarding reconstruction and/or development of earthquake damaged public schools in the earthquake affected areas of Nepal has been signed by the Lions Club International Multiple District 325 Nepal (LCIMDN) and the USA-Nepal Community Outreach Network (UNCON) on June 9, 2015. LCIMDN President Lion Mr. Bharat Dhungel and UNCON’s President Lion Mr. Prakash Gautam signed the agreement that detailed the scope of the project and responsibilities of each parties in this noble task. UNCON is privileged to be a working partner of LCIMDN.

Lions Club of Narayangarh Diyalo

An agreement regarding supporting Girls Orphanage in Bharatpur, Nepal has been signed by the Lions Club of Narayangarh Diyalo (LCND) and the USA-Nepal Community Outreach Network (UNCON) on August 8, 2015. Vice-President of UNCON Mr. Thala Raj Panta and Project Coordinator of Girls Orphanage Project at LCND Mr. Dina Nath Naupane signed the agreement. The main objectives of LCND is to provide humanitarian aids through volunteer service to the community and to serve disabled (intellectually handicapped) people with international cooperation.

National Youth Council

UNCON and National Youth Council, Nepal, (NYC) collectively organized a webinar between Youth of Nepali origin living in DFW (USA) and youths of Nepal in 2015 and 2016.
